What a wonderful profession than the journalism ! Yes, it is a great job when you can have a job of journalist. It is not a joke.
My passion and my job is the journalism, I made already a documentary about evangelical churches in the african communauty. This film has been broadcasted on the french channel France2 and it received an award during a film’ festival in Schwitzerland.
And now, I have got a wonderful job : I work in a call-center in Netherland; Waouh, what a wonderful job ! You meet a lot of people on the phone. The most of people are grumpy, they shout after you, they insult you sometimes but they need your help for their camera, printer, lenses, flashes… YOU , you do the technical support by phone of a famous brand, very famous.
You are so proud to work in this place. Why to be paid, you work for an extraordinary brand. So, what do you expect ? Nothing, you are the slave of the call-center. You are nothing except an agent on the phone.
“Switch, please”, it is the voice of the gourou. Take the call, call after call. You have already 60 calls today. What a wonderful person you are. And you have a big headacche every evening but you have the power to tell the client : ” If you continue to shout like that, I am going to hang up”. And you , you couldn’t give the technical support to this client. What a pity ! The most of time, these people don’t read tte manual and try to follow the instructions to install a driver for their printer or a software for their camera. What a pity !
But there are the supermen and superwomen to answer to these people with the smile and the skills for that. What a wonderful job to work in a call-center.
Ah! I forget something. You are a robot between your computer and your aspect on the phone. But you have some break to breathe, to eat food, to go to the toilet, to have a friendly coffee. What a wonderful environment of work. everyone is nice and friendly. It is the magical world of the call-center. What a fairy story, shut….
You just enter in this world. Take a seat and see the show.
Everyone is hurry, it is like in the house of antes. People run in the big room, you don’t know why but they run all the day, everyday during the week. You can listen different languages, it is very international : Dutch, English, Flamish, German, Irish, Scottish, French, Spanish, Portugues…
All this people have a mission, to satisfy the client on the phone, to help the poor client completely lost on the phone. To have some empathie for this client, to be nice and understand perfectly the client and to give the solution to this client. What a great mission you have to do, don’t you ? It is like you work for the NGO (The Call-Center Misery). You are so human with the client and you work like a robot, a slave robot sorry.
But at the end of the day with you big headacche and the nice musical sound in your ears. You have the right to go home and have a quiet and peace evening when you don’t work on the evening. What a wonderful job than the call-center.
I think, you should give to these companies an award. Because they give you the possibility to help “poor” lost clients, to work like a slave for a small income, to loose your humanity and become a friendly and nice worker in a call-center.
I think I am going to give up the journalism for this job. What do you think ?
